Toujours fasciné par les intérieurs organiques et ovniesques des ballons, les gestes élégants, les ravissements des spectateurs, j’accompagne les Plasticiens Volants à Aurillac et Sète. Deux destinations particulières. L’une pour son…. »folklore »…et l’autre parce qu’elle représente une dernière étape au coté des Plasticiens Volants. (page Derniers rendez-vous).

Je tiens à remercier très chaleureusement Fiona Neilson Onfidan pour ses traductions et les riches moments de discussions qu’elles ont occasionnés.

Eternally fascinated by the organic and UFO-like balloon interiors, the elegant movements, the audiences’ rapture, I go with the Plasticiens Volants to Aurillac and Sète. Two distinctive destinations: one for its ‘folklore’, and the other because it represents a final step in the journey alongside the Plasticiens Volants. (see Final Rendez-Vous)

I would like to thank Fiona Neilson Onfidan warmly for her translations and the rich discussions that they have generated.

Regarde-moi, s’il te plait

Rendez-vous au Grand Bornand (page Grand Bornand) pour la clôture d’un festival. Le spectacle donné par les Plasticiens Volants s’inspire de la vie de l’explorateur Fernao Mendes Pinto.
Grand enjeu car à Lisbonne la première de ce spectacle s’était terminé…par une certaine débâcle. Le vent.
Autre enjeu, le spectacle de clôture de ce festival a été annulé les 3 dernières années. La pluie.
A la suite de Lisbonne où je ne n’étais pas très content de moi, je tente cette fois-ci une approche photographique différente. Plus frontale. Plus intime. Peut-être.
Et d’une manière indirecte scruter ces intermittents du spectacle.
Et cette fois-ci, comme désormais de temps en temps, un petit cadeau (page BONUS).

Rendez-vous at Grand Bornand (see Grand Bornand) for the closing of a festival. The Plasticiens Volants’ show takes its inspiration from the life of the explorer Fernao Mendes Pinto
The stakes are high because in Lisbon the premiere of this show ended in…. fiasco. Due to the wind.
Another factor is that the closing show of this festival has been cancelled for the last 3 years in a row. Rain.
Following Lisbon, where I was not very happy with myself, I am trying a different photographic approach this time. More frontal. More intimate. Perhaps.
And, in an indirect way, scrutinising these casual theatre workers.
And this time, and from time to time, a small gift (see BONUS). 

L’histoire sans fin

Les Plasticiens Volants ont été invités aux « Festas de Lisboà » afin de créer un spectacle évoquant les voyages du « grand » navigateur Fernao Mendes Pinto (page « Lisbonne »).
Tout semble réuni pour un excellent moment : une création, de nouvelles têtes parmi les Plasticiens et une ville, Lisbonne, une ville « à taille humaine », évocatrice, attirante.
Mais il y a des éléments contre lesquels on ne peut pas lutter.
Le spectacle de rue est ainsi fait, ouvert à tous les aléas, maîtrisables, utilisables… ou pas.

Au final une grande trouble chez les Plasticiens et en ce qui me concerne une grande difficulté à trouver un récit photographique original. Ce qui va m’obliger à revoir mon approche photographique des Plasticiens.

 

Never-ending story

The Plasticiens Volants have been invited to the “Festas de Lisboà » to create a performance about the voyages of the ‘great’ explorer Fernao Mendes Pinto (see “Lisbonne”). All the elements seem to be in place for an excellent moment: a theatrical creation, new faces amongst the Plasticiens, and a city, Lisbon, a ‘human-sized’ city, evocative, attractive. However, there are also elements that are impossible to contend with.
This is the way it is with street theatre, susceptible to all vagaries, whether controllable,  useful…. or not. Ultimately, a big problem for the Plasticiens and lots of difficulty for me to construct an original photo-narrative. This means that I will need to reconsider my photographic  approach to the Plasticiens.

7ème rendez-vous avec les Plasticiens à Toulon (page « Toulon »).

Une foule très compacte, mais la baleine est au dessus de ça.

Exceptionnellement la manière de présenter les images est différente.

Une envie.

Dernier rendez-vous d’été

Sixième sortie avec les Plasticiens Volants (page « Sète »). C’est un spectacle que je ne connais pas mais qui captive tout autant les adultes et les enfants.

C’est aussi le dernier spectacle que je suis cet été . Sur ce blog les publications vont un peu s’étirer mais il y en aura encore. Je voudrais jalonner le temps qui nous sépare de leur future création de quelques sorties avec les Plasticiens Volants.
Je vous recommande donc encore une fois de vous abonner à ce blog si cela vous dit de continuer le voyage.

Comme vous pouvez le voir nous avons maintenant une traduction en anglais car il y a visiblement une demande de visiteurs étrangers. Merci donc à Fiona Neilson Onfidan une amie australienne qui se tape tout le boulot, vu que moi en anglais…

Enfin, j’aimerais fixer cette aventure dans le temps.
Pour cela je voudrais tirer un livre et une exposition
à partir des images de la future création des Plasticiens.
Je contacterai donc en temps voulu des éditeurs
et si nécessaire je ferai appel au « crowdfunding ».
Vous serez bien sûr tenus au courant.

Final rendez-vous this summer

Sixth trip with the Plasticiens Volants (“Sète”). I am unfamiliar with this show but it captivates old and young alike.

It is also the last show that I will cover this summer. My posts to this blog will be less frequent but I will continue to follow the Plasticiens Volants, and there are definitely more articles to come. So please subscribe to this blog and stay tuned if you would like to continue the journey.

As you can see, we now have an English version for the numerous foreign visitors to the blog. Thank you to Fiona Neilson Onfidan, an Australian friend who has been landed with all the translation work, since English and me….  

Finally, I would like to create a more permanent record of this adventure. To achieve this, I would like to put together a book and an exhibition from pictures of the Plasticiens Volants’ future creations. I will thus contact editors in due course and will seek recourse to crowdfunding as necessary. You will, of course, be kept informed.

Quatrième sortie avec les « Plasticiens » (page « Savines le lac »)

Tout commence comme d’habitude : arrivée, déchargements, installations, gonflages, répétitions.

Et puis, brusquement, une invitée surprise va décider de la suite.

Thou shalt not fly.
Fourth trip with the “Plasticiens” (“Savines le lac”).
Everything starts as usual: arrival, unloading, set-up, blowing-up, rehearsals.
Then, suddenly, a surprise guest determines what happens next.

Cette fois c’est pour un passage éclair en Angleterre.

Une ville…particulière, des nouvelles têtes, d’étranges spectateurs.
